Contraband Regatta 2001 Results

Weather: The day was windy, (SE at 15-20mph) partly cloudy, warm and very nice.

Races: Three races were held with the first race starting before lunch. Two races followed in the afternoon. Marks F, H and B were used for all races. Course 2 was used for race one. Races 2 and 3 used Course 3 with the exception that Cruisers used a single triangle.

Starts:

Three starts were used. Stiletto 27 and Hobie 16, Portsmouth and Flying Scotts, Portsmouth Cruising. Boat types are listed in the scoring.

Contraband Regatta 2001 Report

The Regatta was sailed on May 5, 2001 and was a complete success.

Mike Petry did the official paperwork associated with Contraband Days. Also the Race Notice,

Schedule, Racing Rules and the Course Listing.

Mike Petry replaced and/or serviced the race marks.

Kem Abrahams ran the GPS and Mark Howard provided charts of buoy locations.

Kelly Barremore used the Carolina Skiff and motor for on-the-water support. He was assisted by Randall Gandy. (They rec’d T-shirts and caps.)

Ken Abrahams with assistance from Al Guerrini manned the Committee Boat "Maria Del Lago". They rec’d T-shirts and caps.) (Noon meal was provided for the entire Race Committee.)

Mike Petry and Commodore Bob Dowden rec'd T-shirts and caps for their assistance.

Trophies were provided by Angels Awards.

Jimmy and Rudy Fruge provided the evening meal.
